minimum chips, an ongoing project since '94, started as a trio with much instrument-swapping and settled, after relocating from brisbane to melbourne, into a 4-piece group with, as a rule, Nicole Thibault on vocals & keyboards, Julian Patterson on guitar, Ian Wadley on drums. Guy Blackman (who had earlier released most of the groups discography on Chapter Music) played bass, and so did Ellen Turner (now operating a bar in Shanghai).
the groups efforts have been somewhat interrupted in recent years by side projects, eg. april thibault-harris, ianw solo, kes & mum smokes
minChips have a mySpace presence, and even better the official site designed by julian patterson (minChips pivotal figure re: sound & vision)
